Xbox is a home video game console released by Microsoft in 2001 and the first console made by the corporation. There are no hardware options to the system, but controller variations exist — except for the initial Xbox controller there was smaller Xbox controller S smaller released exclusively in Japan following the stereotype of people having little hands there. , so Microsoft was forced to release the controller worldwide and later even to include it in basic Xbox kit. Xbox Live online gaming service was also launched initially for Xbox. Nevertheless, the console experienced problems with having the support of first-party, so they decided to buy Rare company specialized on old Nintendo games. However, some outstanding titles like Ninja Gaiden, Fable and Halo 2 was released on the platform which pumped it its status and allowed Microsoft to reinforce their position in the competition with PlayStation 2.
RAWG publishes an average score only once a game has collected
6 or more user votes. Below that it
returns 0.0 — while still returning the full vote
breakdown. So a game nobody has ever rated and a game with five
“exceptional” votes arrive looking identical.
Those suppressed scores are recomputed from the breakdown, which recovers 1 of the 1 games here that would otherwise read as unrated. The rest have no votes at all — mostly obscure, regional or unported titles. That is a real absence, not a gap in the fetch: there is nothing to retrieve.
Everything with a vote ranks in one table, because the order is weighted rather than a raw mean: a score is shrunk toward the all-years mean of 3.79 (too few ranked games here to take a local one) in proportion to how thin its evidence is, so a two-vote 5.0 settles near the middle instead of on top. Metacritic joins at half that weight where it exists.
Ordered by a weighted score, not the raw mean: each game's own average is shrunk toward the all-years mean of 3.79 in proportion to how few votes it rests on, and Metacritic is folded in at half that weight where it exists. A 6-vote 4.67 therefore ranks below a 2,100-vote 4.45 — the raw figure is shown under each score, and sorting by raw score ignores the weighting entirely.
Bars show how the votes split —
Exceptional, Recommended, Meh, Skip.
A ~ on the raw figure marks a score recomputed from a
breakdown RAWG suppresses.
