Amiga is a single-user multitasking operating system. It is also a family of personal computers introduced by Commodore in 1985. The original model was part of a wave of 16 and 32-bit computers. Amiga included peripherals like a chipset, keyboard, mouse, serial ports and networking. The platform became especially attractive for gaming and programming demos. It was famous for desktop video production. Amiga lets the players simultaneously play back multiple digital sound samples. It has a relatively strong processor and access to several megabytes of memory; at the time it was first released, it led to the development of several 3D rendering packages. However, in the 2000s the sales collapsed as the new Amigas had very slow and stale graphics and mechanics. Now it has fast and sophisticated sound and graphics but also contributes to system instability.
